Thomas Marcel … ISIS most dangerous in Europe

No one knew the identity of the planners of the bloody Paris attacks that killed 130 people in 2015, or the trainers of suicide bombers in the ranks of ISIS until a report by the German newspaper Bild based on security information revealed the identity of a leader of the organization that the security services in European countries considered “the most dangerous European terrorist.”

Thomas Marcel Kretsian, a German-Swiss citizen, played the largest role in the attacks that struck the French capital, as the authorities in France and Germany concluded that he had trained the perpetrators of the attacks, and was one of a group of Europeans who participated in planning them, according to the same report.

Thomas Marcel was born in Switzerland in 1987, and lived with his father in France for a short period, before moving to the German city of Frankfurt with his Swiss mother in 2006, and in Frankfurt, Thomas Marcel converted to Islam in 2009, and communicated with Islamic extremists in the city, before joining the organization “ISIS” in Syria in March 2013.

In Syria, Marcel, who was known there as “Abu Musab”, rose to the leadership positions of the “ISIS” organization, and headed an intelligence unit affiliated to him in the city of Manbij in 2014. This was a great beginning for “Abu Musab” who spoke five languages: German, English, French, Russian, and Arabic.

Later, Abu Musab got to know the spokesman for “ISIS” and the head of its intelligence, Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, and he gained his trust very quickly. He even married a girl from the Al-Adnani family and tied his relationship with him even more. This enabled him to move quickly up the ladder of the leadership of the organization until he took command of the “suicide bombers” cell.

In the suicide bombers cell, Abu Musab trained hundreds of ISIS operatives to carry out suicide operations. In 2015, Abu Musab trained the perpetrators of the Paris attack in the use of firearms and then did the same with the perpetrators of the Brussels attacks, which left dozens dead and injured in 2016.

After that, Abu Musab continued to advance in the leadership of the organization, reaching the highest positions in his intelligence apparatus, and taking charge of planning terrorist attacks. The European authorities consider Thomas Marcel the most dangerous European terrorist and are searching intensively for him to arrest him, but his tendency to not appear, and his absence from the videos issued by the organization, enabled him to hide, and made the process of arresting him very difficult.

Basil Hassan .. specialist in passenger and drone aircraft

Surprisingly, earlier this month, a Danish journalist investigation revealed a leader of “ISIS”, describing him as “the most dangerous Danish terrorist” and attributing to him attacks that terrified the world. Hassan, who was born in Denmark in 1987 to a family with roots in Lebanon, was an ordinary introverted child, but in his youth, he turned into one of the most dangerous elements of the terrorist organization, according to the investigation conducted by the Danish radio station DR.

In 2010 Hasan obtained a university degree in engineering and received flight training to become a civilian pilot, but he approached Islamic extremists in Denmark. Three years later, according to Danish police investigations, Hasan was involved in the murder of historian Lars Hedegaard because of his critical views of Islamic history, after he disguised himself as a postman, and then fled to Lebanon, and from there to Syria, where he joined ISIS.

In Syria, Basil Hassan was a prominent member of ISIS, responsible for the drones and passenger aircraft attacks. He was also responsible for the organization’s external operations unit, that is, operations carried out outside Syria and Iraq.

Hassan is considered the most dangerous Danish terrorist wanted by justice, and Jason Blazakis, a former official in the US Intelligence Counter-Terrorism Unit, said: Hassan is “one of the most prominent subjects on the American terrorism list,” and according to the investigation, Hassan is credited with planning to blow up the Russian A321 aircraft in the Sinai In 2015, which killed about 200 people.

Radio DR said that it obtained this information through an investigation related to an Australian citizen named Khaled Khayat, accused of preparing for an attack on a flight between Sydney and Dubai, and was arrested in 2017, and during the investigations conducted earlier this year, the ISIS-linked Khayat said. According to the Australian police, his brother Tariq and Basil Hassan were behind the failed attack on the “Sydney — Dubai” flight. Al-Khayyat added, “There is a plane that exploded in Egypt, and the same people (Tarek and Bassel) were behind it.”

How did ISIS plan a massacre in Germany?

The matter did not stop at revealing the identity of the European leaders of ISIS. Rather, the papers of the dangerous operations planned by the organization during the past years, which were subject to a great blackout, began to fall rapidly since the killing of Al-Baghdadi. In Germany, a report based on high-level security and intelligence sources revealed last week that “ISIS” planned to carry out a major massacre to kill the largest possible number of people in Germany during the last period, and set major goals, most notably a famous music festival in the country.

“Fox” magazine (in particular), and “Bild” and “Die Welt” newspapers (private) stated that Thomas Marcel had planned a major massacre in Germany during the last period, and the plan included the entry of three teams of trained militants into Germany separately to carry out attacks using firearms. And explosives.

Thomas Marcel identified targets for the attacks, the most prominent of which was the “Mira Luna” music festival in the northern German city of Hildesheim, which attracts tens of thousands of people; This means that the attacks that the organization was planning would have turned into a great massacre.

“Mirna Luna” is very similar, in terms of the music it performs, and the attraction of young people to it, the Bataclan theater in Paris, which was one of the targets of the attacks that struck the city in November 2015, and the activities of the “Mirna Luna” festival are held in August. (August) annually since 2000 with the attendance of about 25 thousand people. The festival used to present a mixture of youth music, including pop, metal, and jazz.

The Eiffel Tower … another goal that almost became the disaster of the twenty-first century

In France, the newspaper “Le Parisien” (in particular) revealed on November 17th, another operation by “ISIS” that would have shaken the year if it had succeeded in carrying it out. The operation, planned by the organization, began with Sarah’s love story. G, and Thomas. S., two Frenchmen, got married through a Muslim-only dating site in 2016.

The two young men — who were as young as 20 years old and converted to Islam shortly before their meeting — agreed to marry. Indeed, young Thomas rented an apartment to prepare for marriage, and they communicated with ISIS via the Internet at the same time.

In the beginning, the couple wanted to travel to ISIS areas in Syria and Iraq, according to what Sarah wrote in her diary, “The only way to get rid of my sins is to live in an area that is subject to the Islamic State.” On February 9, 2017, the French authorities spotted Thomas and Sarah buying acetone and hydrogen peroxide, used in making explosives, a day after the young man filmed a video clip declaring allegiance to ISIS.

On the tenth of February, the authorities decided to break into their house and search it. They found 71 grams of “TPAT” highly explosive, and their plot was revealed, as the husband was planning to blow himself up inside the Eiffel Tower the next day immediately: February 11, while the wife was planning to travel to the country. Muslim as a “martyr’s widow.”

Deadly strikes after Al-Baghdadi was killed

The Austrian expert in the affairs of armed Islamic organizations, Nicholas Stockhammer, said that the successive disclosure of the identities of the most dangerous Europeans in the ranks of ISIS, by European countries, is an attempt to tighten the screws on the organization and scatter more of its papers in light of the state of confusion it suffers after the killing of its leader.

He explained that Germany’s thwarted two attacks in less than a week is evidence that the organization is trying to respond to the killing of Al-Baghdadi in a hasty and ill-considered manner, which is what we did not consider in its previous operations, and this haste also facilitates the monitoring of its supporters and thwarting the operations they are planning.

The Austrian expert concluded that “ISIS” is undergoing a violent shake-up after the killing of its leader, and the indiscriminate, hasty and fear of its leaders over a fate similar to al-Baghdadi could push the organization into a rapid collapse.
